SNERPA Power was founded by Íris Baldursdóttir and Eyrún Linnet in January 2022 with the vision of developing intelligent energy services that tap into the full potential of the power intensive industry, thereby creating new revenue streams, increasing the competitiveness of the electricity market and giving more room for the energy transition. Íris Baldursdóttir serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Eyrún Linnet as the Chief Technology Officer of SNERPA Power ehf.
The sustainable and intelligent use of energy resources is our passion and we believe that through innovation, automation and digitalization of industrial load there are gains to be created for the benefit of our customers and the energy system as a whole.
We partner up with power intensive users to find the optimal solution adapted to their load characteristics, and of course the trends on the electricity market.

Prof. Sonja Monica Berlijn
Advisory Board Member
Currently Head of School for Electrical Engineering and Data Sciences at KTH and professor in sustainable integrated energy systems at KTH. Previously acting Senior Vice President of Statnett’s R&D division and part-time professor in Power Systems at NMBU, with experience from working in the High Voltage laboratory in KEMA and STRI in the Netherlands and Sweden. She has served as the board member of Energi21 and the Norwegian Smart Grid Center as well as several research and infrastructure centers at KTH. Awarded and acknowledged by IEEE and elected fellow of the Swedish Royal Academy for Engineering Sciences in 2021.
Sonja holds an M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the TUE, Eindhoven, the Netherlands in 1994, her PhD degree from TUG, Graz, Austria, in 2000 and her MBA in 2012 from Melbourne University.

Leifur A. Kristjánsson
Advisory Board Member
Leifur is the Co-Founder and CTO of Ankeri, a company established in 2016 with the objective to utilize the large amount of data available in the merchant shipping sector to increase transparency and maximize performance. Prior to that he worked at Marorka for 10 years in various roles related to energy simulation, consultancy, product management and lastly as the Director of Technology and Engineering.
Leifur holds an M.Sc. degree in industrial and mechanical engineering from the University of Iceland.
Dr. Tryggvi Jónsson
Advisory Board Member
Tryggvi Jónsson is Technical Product Manager, previously Principal Software Engineer, at Marel where he has led the development of the company’s new generation of IoT and Data Analytics based software solutions for optimizing machine- and factory performance. Previously, he has held various technical leadership roles related to Data Science and Software Engineering with startups and larger companies within the Fintech and Renewable Energy Sector.
Tryggvi holds an M.Sc. degree in Machine Learning and Applied Statistics from DTU and an Industrial Ph.D degree from the same university. After finishing his Ph.D. studies, Tryggvi held a Post Doc. position at DTU researching designs of electricity markets with the aim of mobilizing demand side flexibility.
Dr. Gerard Doorman
Advisory Board Member
Gerard is presently a Market Design Specialist with Statnett, the Norwegian TSO. He has been involved with ENTSO-E activities within the Common Grid Model, balancing and market design and was convener of the ENTSO-E project that developed the 2030 Market Design Vision. His expertise and interests are within power market design, congestion management, balancing, capacity markets, offshore grid and demand flexibility. Gerard has a long career within power companies, consultancies and within research & teaching. Gerard was a professor in Electric Power Engineering at NTNU from 2006 to 2018, and he is (co)author of almost 80 scientific papers.
Gerard Doorman has a PhD in Electric Power Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
