Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the energy space?

We are growing our team and are looking for curious, ambitious, and entrepreneurial people to join SnerpaPower on our next phase of growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, energy markets, and industrial operations, with significant ownership and the chance to make a real impact as we continue to develop our platform and expand across Europe.
CFO
At SnerpaPower, we’re building an AI-powered SaaS platform that helps power-intensive industries optimise electricity procurement, forecasting, scheduling and participation in flexibility markets, reducing costs while creating new revenue opportunities without disrupting production. As we enter our next phase of growth and expand across Europe, we’re looking for an experienced and hands-on part-time CFO to take ownership of our financial management and help build the structures, insights and processes needed to scale.
The Role

As our Part-time CFO, you will be responsible for SnerpaPower’s financial management, planning and reporting.

You’ll work closely with the CEO and leadership team on financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and decision support, while ensuring that the company’s financial processes and reporting are accurate, efficient and scalable.

This is a hands-on role. We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable discussing financial strategy with the Board, building financial models and forecasts, and making sure the fundamentals of our finance function work exceptionally well.

The role is initially part-time, with the scope and time commitment developing alongside the company.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Prepare clear and insightful financial reporting for the leadership team and Board.
  • Monitor financial performance, SaaS metrics, cash runway and key business drivers.
  • Support the CEO and leadership team with financial analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee accounting, annual accounts, audit, tax and other financial compliance in collaboration with external partners.
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes and systems as the company scales.
  • Support commercial decision-making, including pricing, contracts and business cases
  • Support grant reporting and other financing-related activities where relevant.
  • Contribute to future fundraising, investor reporting and financing processes.
  • Help build the financial infrastructure required to support SnerpaPower's international growth.
Who are you?

We're looking for someone who combines strong financial expertise with a pragmatic, entrepreneurial mindset.

You enjoy working in a growing company where not everything has already been built. You know when financial rigour is essential, but you also understand that an early-stage company needs simple, effective processes rather than unnecessary complexity.

You are comfortable moving between the strategic and the practical—from discussing growth scenarios and capital requirements to diving into the numbers yourself.

Experience & Qualifications

You likely have:

  • Significant experience in senior finance roles, such as CFO, Finance Director, Head of Finance or similar.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and financial modelling.
  • Experience preparing financial reporting and decision support for management teams and Boards.
  • A strong understanding of accounting, financial controls and corporate finance.
  • Experience working with growing technology, SaaS or internationally expanding companies is highly desirable.
  • Experience with fundraising, investor reporting, grants or venture-backed companies is an advantage.
  • An understanding of SaaS business models and metrics is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial information into clear business insights.
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Icelandic is an advantage.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to work across both strategic and operational finance.

Personal Qualities

At SnerpaPower, our values guide everything we do. To thrive in this role, you share those values:

  • Think Big – You’re curious, ambitious and excited about building technology that needs to scale.
  • Excellence – You care about quality, reliability and security and continuously look for ways to improve.
  • Collaborate – You believe strong engineering comes from open discussion, knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Sustainability – You’re motivated by the opportunity to use technology to contribute to a more efficient and resilient energy system.
Why Join SnerpaPower?

SnerpaPower is a Nordic technology company on a mission to transform how power-intensive industries manage electricity.

Our AI-powered energy management platform helps some of the largest electricity users optimise electricity procurement, forecasting and scheduling, while identifying opportunities to create additional revenue from flexibility, all without compromising production.

Today, our platform helps manage more than 10 TWh of industrial electricity consumption annually, roughly equivalent to the electricity used by 3 million European households, with more than 1.2 GW of power-intensive load connected to the platform. We are expanding rapidly across the Nordics and Europe

As our part-time CFO, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team on the company's next phase of growth.
  • Shape SnerpaPower's finance function rather than inherit a finished one.
  • Have meaningful influence on strategic and commercial decisions.
  • Work in an international deep-tech company at the intersection of software, industry and the energy transition.
  • Join an experienced and collaborative team with ambitious plans for European expansion.

Location

The role is based in Iceland and is part-time, with flexibility in how the working time is structured.

We are looking for someone who can work closely with the team and be regularly present at our office while offering flexibility where appropriate.
