Full-time position based in Finland, Sweden or Norway

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the energy space?

We are growing our team and are looking for curious, ambitious, and entrepreneurial people to join SnerpaPower on our next phase of growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, energy markets, and industrial operations, with significant ownership and the chance to make a real impact as we continue to develop our platform and expand across Europe.
Cloud Platform Engineer
At SnerpaPower, we’re building an AI-powered SaaS platform that helps power-intensive industries optimise electricity procurement, forecasting, scheduling and participation in flexibility markets - reducing costs while creating new revenue opportunities without disrupting production. As we expand into new markets and introduce new capabilities, we’re looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to help scale both our cloud infrastructure and application platform. You’ll join a small and highly collaborative engineering team where every team member has meaningful ownership and the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering practices and product direction.
The Role

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the cloud infrastructure and deployment systems that underpin SnerpaPower’s platform, while also contributing to backend development.

You’ll work primarily with AWS, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Python and Django, designing and improving scalable cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and backend services.

This is a hybrid engineering role. Depending on where your expertise can have the greatest impact, you might be improving our cloud architecture, automating deployments, strengthening platform reliability and security, or developing new backend services and APIs.

We value engineers who are curious, pragmatic and adaptable - people who enjoy taking ownership, care about building reliable systems and are excited to explore new technologies, including AI-assisted development practices.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain and continuously improve our AWS infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitLab.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise the performance, security and reliability of our platform.
  • Support application deployments and production operations.
  • Contribute to backend development using Python and Django.
  • Design and implement scalable APIs and backend services.
  • Participate actively in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the whole engineering team to continuously improve our platform, tooling and development practices.
Who are you?

We’re looking for a curious, driven and collaborative engineer who enjoys working across the boundaries between cloud infrastructure and software development.

You like understanding how systems work end-to-end and take ownership of making them scalable, reliable and easy to operate. You’re equally comfortable thinking about cloud architecture and deployment automation as you are diving into application code when that’s where you can make the biggest difference.

You don’t need to have worked with every technology in our stack. What matters more is strong engineering fundamentals, a willingness to learn and the ability to take ownership across multiple technical domains.

Experience & Qualifications

You likely have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Professional experience building and operating cloud-based software systems.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, with AWS preferred.
  • Experience developing backend applications
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools.
  • Experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices.
  • A strong understanding of software and cloud architecture, networking and security fundamentals.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to ownership, continuous learning and improvement.
  • Curiosity about new technologies, including AI-assisted software development and modern engineering practices.

Personal Qualities

At SnerpaPower, our values guide everything we do. To thrive in this role, you share those values:

  • Think Big – You’re curious, ambitious and excited about building technology that needs to scale.
  • Excellence – You care about quality, reliability and security and continuously look for ways to improve.
  • Collaborate – You believe strong engineering comes from open discussion, knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Sustainability – You’re motivated by the opportunity to use technology to contribute to a more efficient and resilient energy system.
Why Join SnerpaPower?

SnerpaPower is a Nordic technology company on a mission to transform how power-intensive industries manage electricity.

Our AI-powered energy management platform helps some of the largest electricity users optimise electricity procurement, forecasting and scheduling, while identifying opportunities to create additional revenue from flexibility, all without compromising production.

Today, our platform helps manage more than 10 TWh of industrial electricity consumption annually, roughly equivalent to the electricity used by 3 million European households, with more than 1.2 GW of power-intensive load connected to the platform. We are expanding rapidly across the Nordics and Europe

As part of our engineering team, you’ll have:

  • The opportunity to build and scale technology used by some of Europe’s largest industrial electricity consumers.
  • Significant ownership of the cloud platform and infrastructure behind a growing international SaaS product.
  • The ability to influence cloud architecture, reliability, security, engineering practices and product direction.
  • Challenging engineering problems across both infrastructure and application development.
  • The opportunity to help shape our use of AI—both within our product and in how we build software.
  • An experienced and collaborative team with deep expertise across software, electricity markets and industrial operations.
  • A fast-growing international company with ambitious expansion plans across Europe.
  • Professional growth, continuous learning, a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Location

The position is based at our office in the Reykjavík.

We have an office-first culture where close collaboration is an important part of how we build products and solve problems together, while providing flexibility when appropriate.
