Full-time
Full-time position based in Finland, Sweden or Norway

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the energy space?

We are growing our team and are looking for curious, ambitious, and entrepreneurial people to join SnerpaPower on our next phase of growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, energy markets, and industrial operations, with significant ownership and the chance to make a real impact as we continue to develop our platform and expand across Europe.
Quality Engineer
At SnerpaPower, we’re building an AI-powered SaaS platform that helps power-intensive industries optimise electricity procurement, forecasting, scheduling and participation in flexibility markets, reducing costs while creating new revenue opportunities without disrupting production. As we expand into new markets and introduce new AI-driven capabilities, we’re looking for our first dedicated Quality Engineer to help establish and evolve quality practices across the entire software development lifecycle. You’ll join a small and highly collaborative engineering team where quality is everyone’s responsibility. You’ll have significant ownership and the opportunity to influence testing strategy, automation, release processes and broader engineering practices.
The Role

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll work closely with software engineers and Product throughout the development lifecycle—from understanding new features and identifying risks early to validating releases before they reach production.

This isn’t a role where QA happens only at the end of development. You’ll help us build quality into the way we design, develop, test and release software.

You’ll combine exploratory and structured testing with automation where it creates the most value, helping us continuously improve the reliability, performance and usability of our platform.

Because you’ll be our first dedicated Quality Engineer, you’ll also have the opportunity to shape our QA strategy, tools and processes as both the engineering team and product grow.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, execute and maintain test strategies, plans and test cases for new features and releases.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression and exploratory testing.
  • Develop and expand automated testing where it provides meaningful value.
  • Validate application quality before production deployments and contribute to release decisions.
  • Work closely with developers throughout the software development lifecycle to identify and resolve issues early.
  • Test backend APIs, integrations and frontend functionality.
  • Investigate, document and track software defects clearly and methodically.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes, release workflows and broader engineering practices.
  • Help improve the reliability, performance and usability of the platform.
  • Advocate for quality across the engineering team while helping make testing efficient and practical.
Who are you?

We’re looking for a curious, analytical and collaborative engineer who enjoys finding the edge cases others may miss and thinking about software from the user’s perspective.

You care deeply about quality, but you’re also pragmatic. You understand that good QA is not about adding process for its own sake—it’s about identifying risk early, improving confidence in releases and helping the team build better software faster.

You enjoy working closely with developers rather than operating as a separate testing function, and you’re comfortable taking ownership of an area that is still evolving.

You don’t need experience with every technology in our stack. What matters more is strong testing fundamentals, technical curiosity and the ability to help establish effective quality practices as we scale.

Experience & Qualifications

You likely have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Professional experience in software quality assurance, software testing or quality engineering.
  • Experience testing modern web applications and APIs.
  • A good understanding of software development processes and release management.
  • Experience using Git and collaborative software development workflows.
  • The ability to investigate problems methodically and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
  • A proactive approach to ownership, problem solving and process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with software engineers and product colleagues.
  • Curiosity about new technologies, including AI-assisted software development and modern testing practices.

Personal Qualities

At SnerpaPower, our values guide everything we do. To thrive in this role, you share those values:

  • Think Big – You’re curious, ambitious and excited about building technology that needs to scale.
  • Excellence – You care about quality, reliability and security and continuously look for ways to improve.
  • Collaborate – You believe strong engineering comes from open discussion, knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Sustainability – You’re motivated by the opportunity to use technology to contribute to a more efficient and resilient energy system.
Why Join SnerpaPower?

SnerpaPower is a Nordic technology company on a mission to transform how power-intensive industries manage electricity.

Our AI-powered energy management platform helps some of the largest electricity users optimise electricity procurement, forecasting and scheduling, while identifying opportunities to create additional revenue from flexibility, all without compromising production.

Today, our platform helps manage more than 10 TWh of industrial electricity consumption annually, roughly equivalent to the electricity used by 3 million European households, with more than 1.2 GW of power-intensive load connected to the platform. We are expanding rapidly across the Nordics and Europe

As part of our engineering team, you’ll have:

  • A unique opportunity to establish and shape the QA function in a growing engineering organisation.
  • Meaningful ownership of software quality and the ability to influence testing strategy, release processes and engineering practices.
  • The opportunity to work on software used in operationally critical industrial environments where reliability genuinely matters.
  • Close collaboration with experienced engineers across architecture, backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure and product development.
  • Challenging quality problems involving complex industrial data, electricity markets, integrations and automation.
  • The opportunity to help shape how we use AI and automation within software testing and development.
  • An experienced and collaborative team with deep expertise across software, electricity markets and industrial operations.
  • A fast-growing international company with ambitious expansion plans across Europe.
  • Professional growth, continuous learning, a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
